MAVAI MUSICA is an annual series of concerts
curated by METEO MOVEMENT. Between 2022
and 2024, these took place in various venues
in Merano (I), Rovereto (I) and Vilnius (LT).
In 2025, MAVAI MUSICA took a break.
In the meantime, we suggested, and we still do, heading
to your local Merano record store to get your
vinyls and updates. Run by Thomas Strappazzon
and Alessandro Cappelli, PIANOPIANO Records
seeks to spread love through music!

we are excited to announce  
MAVAI MUSICA 2026
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, MAVAI MUSICA enters its second round. The featured guests are Light Whales from Trento—with a sound ranging between lo-fi, indie rock, synth-pop, and alternative rock. Following the opening set by Crimewave, the open-air concert series curated by METEO MOVEMENT continues its fourth edition: outdoors, right in the center of Merano, with free admission and music meant to be truly listened to.

Light Whales is the musical project of Jack Pallaver. Founded in 2016, it all began with the debut album Feel Alone with the Science: a fully self-produced DIY album, recorded at home using the simplest means—a phone, a computer, and an SM57 microphone. The sound channels Beck, MGMT, and early 2000s indie rock, yet remains distinct enough to avoid being merely nostalgic.

For the live performances, Pallaver brought in musicians from the local scene: Sebastiano Cecchini from Humus on drums, Matteo Tomaselli from Bob and the Apple on keyboards, and Giacomo Toniolli on bass and guitar. After years of intense touring, the project temporarily stepped back to work on a second album—once again solo, and once again in a homemade home-recording setup.

“Meteo – Eccentric, in the best way possible.
Run by couple Agata and Thomas – the former
a working artist and the latter a cook/DJ music
selector  – Meteo is in a beautiful, cream-colored
building right on the river. Handwritten and so
small that it fits on a sheet of A4, the menu
changes regularly, but you can always find
the fantastic pan dell’Oste, grilled friggitelli
in oil and butter – the perfect antipasto
to share.For primi, try the 24-hour ragù or
the amatriciana, to be followed by a
braised meat if Thomas has one on the menu. “
